Over the course of two years, community volunteers from local arts, business, educational, historical and indigenous communities spent hundreds of hours planning the City of Peterborough’s celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday in 2017. The result was “Celebrate at Home” – four days of fun, entertaining, cultural and educational events that gave area residents over 150 reasons to stay home to mark Canada’s Sesquicentennial. The “Celebrate at Home” events, from June 29th to July 2nd, were captured and documented by talented SPARK photographers, resulting in a collection of photos that serve to remind those of us who experienced Canada 150 firsthand, and to inform future generations of how Peterborough celebrated such a milestone in 2017.
