I have been enjoying photography for over 35 years and my purpose is to capture images that inspire me, make me pause and reflect, and cause me to wonder. I have always been drawn to the outdoors and the majesty and beauty of creation. Whether my adventures are near (mostly) or far (occasionally), my camera is never far from my side. Switching to a DSLR a few years ago has given me the ability to experiment and opened up my creativity in a way I wouldn’t have imagined. I have never spent as much time in manual mode as I have this past year - an unintended consequence.
2017 has enabled me time to explore a new area of photography. That being long exposure and flowing water and in my exhibition of images, combining the two. I love the power and the sounds of rushing and flowing water and the feeling I receive from the negative ions. Scouting the location, bringing all the camera gear required, and creating the image is all part of the ‘work’ necessary to express what I see and the excitement builds in anticipation through all of that process, but it’s after the images are captured that I can fully enjoy the peace and serenity that I feel.
I invite you to explore my exhibition and am excited to share my thoughts and feelings with you through these images.
